Ghost Ranch was originally a dude ranch in the 1930s where Georgia O'Keeffe owned a small adobe house and marveled at the colors in the "bad lands." Ghost Ranch is a few miles north of Abiquiu in the Chama Valley. Abiquiu village was "closed" because of all the equipment, traffic and hubbub of movie filming -- I think "Cowboys and Aliens" but I didn't catch a glimpse of Harrison Ford. Today Ghost Ranch is a Presbyterian conference center but the colors and the mesas remain.
